Haruka sighs as she shuffles a handful of papers - a rare sight in her mostly-digital office indeed. "...but between the security cams and Aelita's bugs, this is something neither of us can afford to ignore."

[22:13:50] <AdventFalls> Yukari nodded. "Indeed. I could hardly believe it myself...." She sighed. "I suppose Kenoko might have been right. Perhaps. We need more data."

[22:16:20] <Haruka_Emmerich> "No, not about Nigo." A couple clicks, and Saturday's Training Hall feed is loaded on Haruka's monitor. "This concern seems...a lot more discriminate than just repressed desire. For one thing, I'm starting to think you were right about Akebara Baraen."

[22:16:50] <AdventFalls> "What about her?"

[22:19:24] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Well...It'd be best for all our sakes if I told you in her presence." A tap to her earbud. "Baraen, my office, ASAP."

[22:21:46] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake is up there about five minutes later wearing plainclothes; her Gear is still around her wrist, implying she's been practicing, but as usual there's not a hair out of place.

[22:23:42] <AdventFalls> Yukari nodded at Akebara, and gestured to another seat.

[22:25:35] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Ah, Akebara. I see your extended companionship with Haru has extended into professional interests. Good on the both of you; that'll help get her to speed with IXA immensely." The white-haired lady bites her lip. "What currently concerns me, though, would be something I overheard during your last outing with her in the Training Hall."

[22:27:49] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake blinks. "Yes ma'am?"

[22:29:14] <Haruka_Emmerich> Haruka scrolls through the footage, realizing... "Wait a tic...I must've got my notes crossed. This actually concerns your interaction with Rebecca Hill. And while I find that you have similar goals in helping familiarize her with BLACK, something of considerable gravity came up on Saturday."
[22:29:55] <Haruka_Emmerich> She lets the footage rest just between Ake's shift from ZX to IXA, twisting the volume knob a bit before hitting Play.
[22:31:04] <Haruka_Emmerich> ["I actually know a little bit about that one...It's supposed to be designed to fight Fangires...and can counter Kiva."] Rebecca's voice comes in crystal clear to all the room's occupants.
[22:31:55] <Haruka_Emmerich> ["Mm, I know. Seems like a perfect fit for me..."] ["You alright?"] ["Yeah...just looking forward to using it for its intended purpose."] Here Haruka stops the playback.

[22:32:16] <AdventFalls> Yukari's eyes narrowed.

[22:32:48] <Haruka_Emmerich> "I believe I speak for Yukari on several levels when I ask: Baraen. What the FUCK."

[22:34:26] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake shuts her eyes. "Anti-Fangire weapon, ma'am."

[22:35:20] <AdventFalls> "Akebara.... you do realize the other way that comment can be construed?"

[22:37:11] <Axel_Wildfire> Her accent goes thoroughly Russian. "And who did *you* mean, comrade major?"

[22:38:47] <AdventFalls> "Rebecca listed two purposes for the IXA Belt, Akebara. It doesn't take too much dot connecting to know you could've been talking about its other function."

[22:40:36] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake snorts. "And I have what reason to want to take you apart? You're attached to Haruka, and you'd kill me anyway before I even got close. I'm not good enough to have been sent to assassinate you, and since you and THI are equal, Wyll wouldn't have set you up anyway."

[22:41:49] <AdventFalls> Yukari sighed. "I just can't be too careful these days. The Checkmate Four's still out there somewhere."

[22:42:54] <Axel_Wildfire> "If they know what's good for them they'll be hiding in fear." she growls softly, and this time her fangs show. "- everyone in JUNKER is offlimits, so if they show up I'll only be too pleased to turn them into rainbow-coloured smears on the asphalt."

[22:43:02] <Haruka_Emmerich> "...even IF the sheer impossibility of a covert attack puts my greatest fear to rest..." Haruka lets out her own deep breath. "...I am not at all enthused about your eagerness to use IXA as an anti-Fangire gear. And this isn't just our heritage talking."
[22:45:15] <Haruka_Emmerich> "...and before you hit me on semantics, whether I mean your Proto Decade configuration or Haru's Mk.XXII is irrelevant."

[22:46:14] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake lets out another snort. "As if I would."

[22:55:50] <AdventFalls> "Regardless of whether or not you did intend for anti-Kiva use, there's still the fact that you explicitly stated that you were looking forward to employing it against Fangires. You almost seemed to relish the thought."

[22:57:51] <Axel_Wildfire> "And?" she looks over at Yukari. "My mother was killed by one. I was abused by one. I. Hate. Fangires. Especially since they were the ones who *enjoyed* those godforsaken arenas."

[22:58:37] <AdventFalls> "That does not give you carte blanche to seek out Fangires and shout out loud that you might enjoy killing them."

[22:59:52] <Axel_Wildfire> "'Might'? There's no 'might' involved." Ake's fangs seem to grow somewhat more pronounced. "Besides, what does it matter to you if I limit my hunting to JUNKER missions?"

[23:01:02] <AdventFalls> "..." She looked at Haruka, then back at Akebara. "Look. If you get your thrills out of killing Fangires, then so be it. But if you go announcing that, if you go parading around that fact, I will drop you like a rock so fucking fast your head will spin."

[23:01:52] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Assuming I don't do so first for blatant breach of protocol," Haruka interjected.

[23:02:40] <Axel_Wildfire> "Then I won't parade it." she folds her arms.

[23:03:40] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Fair enough. However..." A few clicks of Haruka's mouse. "...my concern over your interaction with Hill doesn't end there."
[23:05:51] <Haruka_Emmerich> The next soundbites to play from the computer's speakers are a little grainier, but clearly tinted with Rebecca's pained breathing and Ake's ruminations about her need to 'experiment' with her car's powers.

[23:06:21] <AdventFalls> Yukari's eyes widened. "....Haruka. Tell me that's not what that sounds like."

[23:06:34] <Haruka_Emmerich> "...I think it's about time you answered Yukari's question from the other night. WHY do you have a psychic inducer in your car?"
[23:07:00] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Not what purpose it serves. Not why lust is what it induces. Just. Why. Do. You. HAVE. IT."

[23:08:12] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake flares up. "It's a weapon, isn't it? It needs to be tested and refined when you come up with a situation where it doesn't work, doesn't it!?" ... seems like she has Wyll's methods but not his cold-blooded personality. The This-Is-SPARTA style question slows her down, at least. "Why do I have it? Because I deemed it to be useful, of course."

[23:08:47] <Haruka_Emmerich> "After-market parts, then, or did it come stock?"

[23:13:05] <Axel_Wildfire> "Made it out of this and that. It's actually boosting off the engine to begin with, though lately the car seems to want to do it's own thing..." Ake muses, mostly to herself.

[23:14:38] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Oh my." That gets an eyebrow raised from the Commander. "...Has anything been computerized, aside from the JUNKER dispatch attachments?"

[23:18:31] <Axel_Wildfire> "No. The car just hates going slowly, that's all. Makes driving with passengers irritating at times."

[23:22:21] <Haruka_Emmerich> "...so the ghost in the machine is an accessory to this foray into sadism, consciously or otherwise." Haruka grimaces at the thought. "Our agreement regarding the use of that psychic current stands as it was made the other day, Ake, at least until such a time as we may make a more detailed sweep for paranormal activity and make a better judgment call. I cannot, however, condone of your promotion of fraternization between Rebecca and Kenoko for the express purpose of further testing of this 'weapon'."

[23:24:19] <Axel_Wildfire> "Yeah, yeah, I get it." Ake waves a hand. "I was talking to Haru."

[23:35:29] <AdventFalls> "What of it?"

[23:38:01] <Axel_Wildfire> "... and I decided that it's about time I stopped using my allies as guinea pigs."

[23:39:56] <Haruka_Emmerich> Haruka lets out another uneasy sigh. "That's a relief...though it begs the question of where you'd get replacements. Are you going to use your wiles to toy with random passers-by? Comb our detainment facilities for expendable dregs?"

[23:42:59] <Axel_Wildfire> "Hmph. No, I'm going to do something throroughly stupid and Wyll would roar at me if he heard me doing it." she sighs. "I'm going to wing it and pray it works."

[23:47:59] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Heh. Considering our track record with that..." A smirk. "...as long as you brief your voluntary passengers on the ramifications of it, naturally. AND hold off on the Secret Bullshit Test Of Character. Y'know...if you're here to disprove Wyll, the first step is to quit trying to BE him."

[23:50:02] <Axel_Wildfire> Ake looks annoyed. "It has less meaning if I can't use his methods. But yeah, I will. Besides, I already tested everybody I was worried about."

[23:52:32] <Haruka_Emmerich> "...so were you worried about ME, or was that just an attack of opportunity?" As if daring Akebara to bluff, a hint of green crept into Haruka's hair.

[23:53:23] <Axel_Wildfire> She shuts her eyes. "That was something else."

[23:55:56] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Something else...I'll inquire another time, I guess." The woman's kaijin aspect recedes. "Best we don't keep you and 6th Rio waiting too long, naturally."

[23:59:54] <Axel_Wildfire> "... what?" Ake's eyes open at this.

[2011-01-20 00:01:16] <Haruka_Emmerich> Haruka sighs. "...your squad attachment."

[00:01:27] <Axel_Wildfire> "... you're still letting me go?"

[00:03:28] <Haruka_Emmerich> "It's not like I actually managed to peg you on the Conspiracy Against an Officer that I'd thought I'd wind up having to string you up on, did I?" A playful wave. "You're in the clear! You've got your duty! Go!"

[00:11:01] <Axel_Wildfire> "I'm sorry, do I look like a *moron*?" Quick beat. "Don't answer that. I'm not dumb enough to fight you, either of you." Ake arches an eyebrow. "How fucking stupid would I have to be?"

[00:11:45] <AdventFalls> "You'd be surprised how many people fall under that label. Though you're considerably smarter."

[00:14:51] <Axel_Wildfire> "Hmph. Damn right. Well then, I'll be going." she throws off a salute, a real one for a change. "Ma'am." This is directed to both of them and then Ake scurries for the door.

[00:15:17] <Haruka_Emmerich> Haruka returns it. "Well...that went about as best as it possibly could."

[00:16:07] <AdventFalls> "Indeed. There's no known side-effects from that car, right?"
[00:16:14] <AdventFalls> "Besides the obvious."

[00:19:06] <Haruka_Emmerich> "If there are...we'll see 'em either way." A few keystrokes. "Either R&D's new round of bugs will pick 'em up, or we'll be confronted with a VERY relaxed Rebecca Hill. Win-win, either way, far as I'm concerned."

[00:19:57] <AdventFalls> "New bugs? ...You didn't bug her apartment, did you?"

[00:21:48] <Haruka_Emmerich> "Which part should I refute, the 'I' or the 'apartment?'" Haruka smirks at her partner as the rest of the day's business begins to overtake the screen.
